not quite finished with July...

(August's girls)

I cannot quite believe we are nearly into August, how did that happen so fast?  I am still not quite finished with July...

These girls above are the start of my August set of works,  I just put them on the gray background for this post but I am really liking how the bluey green works so well with the gray of the background... hmmmm.  As I look back now I am not completely happy with my last lot of work, they are not really what I had in mind when I started.  But this is the first attempt on my imaginary friend topic and I guess you have to start somewhere.  I only have two more sets of works for my exhibition in October to get done and I have an idea what I am doing for them both so that is a good start.

I bought this DVD the other day and I was mesmerised, it was so clever, so scary, and so beautiful all at once.

I thought I felt a glimmer of spring the other day but it was short lived we are back into a chilly start to the morning.  If you are at the end of your summer please enjoy a little bit of the warmth for me.

Oh my- well, here in Michigan, USA, we are entering the hottest, muggiest month of the year- last chance for camping, swimming, swatting mosquitos, amping up the tan- etc....the humidity is awful, everything else is fabulous! Really wanted to comment on your use of warm grays- subtle- almost mysterious and somewhat comforting!

Loving that blue, grey, green combo too Katherine. It reminds me of the lovely Oregon coast. Sending you a warm ray of sunshine. :)

I always love coming here. I'm just in awe of your unique and creative girls (love these colors too!)
Wish I could send you some summer heat. Actually, it's only going to be in the 70's here today and sunny--a perfect summer day.

Hi Katherine, I just looked at some of your portfolio images and find your girls' faces so enchanting, especially seeing a whole group of them at once! Lovely!!
Here on the CA coast, we have yet to have any really warm weather this summer. Everyone else seems to be sweltering in the heat, and we keep having the cool ocean breezes. Don't tell anyone or they will all want to move here!!

I would so LOVE to have sent you ALL of our summer warmth here in Jersey in the USA. We had a 33 day heatwave with temps above 90 and without air conditioning I thought I might not make it to fall. It has cooled down a bit now and am looking forward to a cooler month in August she says with fingers crossed. Hope your Spring comes in slowly with temps that are more comfortable than ours were. LOVE your August girls!
